The long 40-year wait was over for UCD
Marian Basketball Club this year as they
were crowned Basketball Ireland Men’s
Super League champions at the National
Basketball Arena in Tallaght with a
thrilling 72-71 point win over Pyrobel
Killester. Back in 1978, when UCD
alumnus Paul Meany lifted the winner’s

2018 sees two major anniversaries in the history of UCD Marian Basketball Club.
UCD celebrate 70 years of basketball, while Marian celebrate 50 years as one of Ireland's top clubs.
To celebrate we are hosting a dinner dance in the Royal Marine Hotel Dun Laoghaire. Judging by the 40th anniversary in the same location it should be an amazing night.
Earlier in the day UCD Marian's Super League team will kick off their title defence against DCU in Belfield.
Tickets for the dinner dance are available by booking online via Eventbrite (https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/ucd-marian-anniversary-dinner-t… ) or by contacting John Landy directly.
If you can't make it but would like to make a donation to the club you can do so here:https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/club-donation-tickets-495244138…
