November 18-20th recap.

Another busy week for the club saw some brilliant results and some tough lessons.

Starting the week off Liam Lavelle and the Division 5 team had a big win in Collinstown against Ballyfermot. Some great offense and stellar defense lead to a 61-45 win.

The division 2 team had a tough mid week challenge against an undefeated Bullets team. In a great game the team were disappointed to come up just short on a scoreline of 66-63. Hopefully they will be able to get the win the next time the two teams meet,

On Friday night turnovers cost the u15s as they lost out to a strong St. Vincents team in Oatlands.

The u18s progressed in the Dublin Cup with a narrow win over Kubs. This continues the strong recent form of the team and they will now face Killester in the semi final.

The u16s continue to make progress but came up just short against Killester by 6 points.

it was a tough day at the office for both the u14s and u12s on Sunday. The 14s lost out to a really good Ongar team. They showed great spirit despite going down and lost by only 13 points. The 12s also lost out to Ongar after a tough game. Ongar built an early first half lead but the team managed to get it back to 5 before losing.

The 16(2) team were missing some players and lost out to Portlaoise. Portlaoise had a considerable size advantage and it proved too much to overcome.

Lastly in the underage the u13s went to Galway on Sunday and played some of the top teams in the country from Galway and Cork. It was a real learning experience for the team and will definitely stand to them as they move forward over the next few weeks.

UCD was home to a double header in UCD with the D1 and the Superleague team both in action. The D1 team faced Portlaoise in the National Cup. Led by 23 points from Shane Egan, 15 from Jack Nolan and 8 from Mark Ryan the team managed to win 66-51 and book their place in the 1/4 final. They face Neptune in Cork in the next round.

The Superleague team had a big clash with Northside rivals Killester. A fantastic first half saw us opening a 20 point lead and despite Killester clawing it back we won 74-62. Dustan Moreira lead the way with 24 points but Neil Baynes was the star on the night with 13 points and some great defense on Jermaine Turner. Highlights of the game can be seen here.

Next week the Superleague team are away to Tralee. Tralee average 1,000 fans at each home game so it should be a great occasion. If you want to come and support the team there is a bus leaving from Oatlands and all support is welcome!
